Tighe painting teams have worked at nearly every power station in the country, along with several in Ireland. Achilles UVDB accreditation gives clients assurance that we are externally audited and have the necessary competencies to carry out works in the energy sector.

Site applied coatings

We have experience carrying out projects on coal fired, hydro electric, gas fired, nuclear and biomass installations. Our teams have worked on sites across the UK, including in remote parts of the Scottish Highlands. We have delivered several projects for SSE (working for them directly, and via various engineering firms) involving spiral casing, dam scours, pipelines and works at Invergarry, Clunie and Glenmoriston Power Stations. We have also been awarded a place on the current SSE painting framework in 2019. Contracts in this sector also include:

The energy sector as a whole, and in particular the increasing demand for green and renewable infrastructure, provides a fast-growing area of work for our factories. Investment in our 135,000 square foot facility in Scunthorpe has helped us to secure the following projects:
