Tighe Group is committed to improving skill levels across the industry and safeguarding the future of the industry by the introduction of our approved apprentice scheme. Further apprentice scheme details can be found in the About Us section of the web site.
In addition to maintaining our own fully qualified workforce, we offer a range of courses for external delegates. We are well placed to deliver training in surface preparation and painting, having built up over 60 years’ experience in the industry.
Our certified trainers deliver Industrial Coating Applicator Training Scheme (ICATS) (link) and Train the Painter (link) training, along with non-painting specific courses such as:

Driver CPC

Our experienced Training Manager delivers Driver CPC courses – training delegates to drive safely, keep their vehicles secure, maximise fuel economy, and protect their company’s public image.
We offer 12 modular courses;

ICATS and Train the Painter

Jack Tighe Ltd is an approved ICATS and Train the Painter training provider, registered to train all current modules including the Abrasive Blasting and Spray Painting specialist modules.

Our inhouse Certified Trainers are currently working on painting projects; in addition to teaching delegates the theory, they are able to instruct them in the practical application – drawing on many years’ experience in the coatings industry.
We have approved 5 Star training facilities at our Head Office in Scunthorpe where we also carry out practical assessments. We can offer training at customer sites where required.
Our training programmes are flexible to meet individual customer requirements and workloads. Courses can be completed in a single five-day block or spread over a longer period with one or two days’ training per week. Lunches are provided and there are hotels and B&Bs within 10 miles of the training facility.
