In June 2021 Jack Tighe Ltd was again awarded this contract to prep and recoat the Hull, Boot Topping, White line, Brow Sponsons and Jetty Fenders. The work was carried out for the National Museum of the Royal Navy. JTL had previously been awarded this unique contract in July 2018.
A floating pontoon was hired and erected and was floated to the side of the ship. We were also supplied with a safety boat with a fully trained operative to move the pontoon when required and ferry the men to dockside from the pontoon safely.
CAN provided an industrial rope access team complete with all necessary equipment required to undertake the redecoration of the starboard bow of HMS Warrior.

• Fresh water wash to remove all salts and contaminates.
• Mechanically prepare breakdown to achieve a standard of ST2
• Light Abrade to all surfaces
• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Aluminium to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Aluminium to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Aluminium to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Black to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a F/C of interthane 870 Black to achieve a DFT of 75 (WFT 132)

• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Aluminium to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Aluminium to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a T/U coat of interseal 670 Aluminium to achieve a DFT of 125 (WFT 152)
• Apply a full coat of interseal 570 Red to achieve a DFT of 75 (WFT 132)
The work was completed in August 2021 for a value of £60.537 with two operatives working on the project for around 7 weeks.
