Case Study: Durham University Painting & Decorating 4 Year Framework
This contract with York College was carried out in 2 parts over the winter of 2012-2013 and during spring 2013, with a final value of £39,000.
We were working directly for the Estates & Facilities Manager and his assistant. Following this initial contract, we successfully tendered for the College’s 2014 decorating requirements.
The specification was broadly as that for Durham University, involving redecoration of previously painted areas using specified Dulux Paint products. These included classrooms, tutorial and seminar rooms, lecture theatres, IT suites and circulation areas, including corridors and staircases. Our site supervisor and operatives liaised closely with the Estates Manager and his staff to carry out the works at times of minimal footfall.
Where decorating had to be carried out in a live environment, we protected residents and visitors with appropriate signage and physical barriers whilst protecting equipment, furniture and fittings with clean dust sheets and other protective measures deemed necessary.
This contract was managed from our Richmond, North Yorkshire Branch Office with estimating support from the Head Office in Lincolnshire.
